You’re Not Crazy, You’re Evolving ft. George Sketch. (Proof Of Life - Episode 15)
Proof that art, healing, and the chaos in between can all lead to clarity.
Have you ever seen someone’s talent and just known they were meant for great things?
George Sketch is that person.
From admiring his unique visual arts in the early days of Instagram to how much he has evolved it today, you just knew your gut feelings weren’t wrong.
In this episode of Proof of Life, we catch up with George in his current chapter—living in Bangkok, designing at the intersection of art and experience, and reflecting on healing, risk-taking, and what it means to create without limits.
From surviving a childhood accident that rewired his perspective on life to embracing solitude and learning to keep moving, this conversation reminds us that greatness is often quiet, consistent, and deeply curious.
Enjoy
Let’s start here—what does “Proof of Life” mean to you right now, as someone creating at the intersection of art, design, and discovery?
It means acceptance, staying grounded, and finding fulfilment in the journey, and not the destination. Every idea is all part of one experience.
You’ve worn many hats—artist, product designer, campaign manager. But beneath all that, who is George? And how has art helped you become more of that person?
George is just a guy who believes that human beings are not meant to fit into one box, and doing art early showed me that visual experiences are a powerful way to connect with other people, and understand ourselves. We are built to explore, try things, and discover ourselves. Everything is an experiment.

You made the bold move from Nigeria to Bangkok. What was the push? Why Bangkok, of all places? And what has that shift taught you about home?
Bangkok is awesome. Every new city shows that there is so much diversity on earth beyond what we see in the media, but the similarities are even more fascinating. We are all living the same lives on many levels
Your work spans visual storytelling and interface design—two very different worlds. How do you balance the structure of product design with the freedom of your artistic roots?
To me, design is another form of storytelling. Every time you try something new, you are doing the same thing, but operating within different rules. At every point, regardless of the tool and constraint, you are guiding someone through a story.

What grounds you when everything feels like it’s moving too fast—clients, deadlines, solitude, the pressure to always be “on”?
Tbh I am not grounded all the time. But I think the best way through difficult moments is to keep moving. I try to relax whenever I'm overwhelmed or lack clarity. Then I write a checklist and just keep ticking things off.
What are you currently most grateful for?
All my past experiences. Because they all led to this moment
Let’s rewind a little—can you tell us about the accident you survived? How did it affect your perspective, creativity, or sense of purpose?
It was a childhood accident that ended but snowballing into a situation that needed constant maintenance for a while. Definitely redefined my entire life. I experienced so many things that all feel like a dream now. At some point, for a long time, all I had was my talent and personality. This should be a separate interview 😂
Haha…We agree.
What’s one project, sketch, or screen you’ve worked on that made you pause and think, “Yes. This is what I was built for.”
I don't know if I've created it yet. I try to go 100 on every project, so i maybe i was built for all of them
As someone who understands beauty—both in form and function—how has your idea of love evolved? Has moving cities or healing changed how you connect with people—or yourself?
For sure. The more stories I encounter, the more I realize two things: we are all incredibly different, and yet somehow living the same lives. It’s made me more open to learning and unlearning. Updating your mind whenever you come across superior information is just proof that you are a free human being.
You’ve been through a lot—movement, healing, and growth. What’s one lesson you’d share with someone scared to take the leap—whether it’s changing cities, careers, or starting again?
Yes o i’ve been through a lot 😂. I just wish I'd tried more things, learned more things, and been more expressive when relating with people. And that’s what I'd tell anyone. Be intentional, but don’t overthink. Time flies.
Finally, what’s one random, chaotic, or quietly profound thought that’s been living rent-free in your head lately? Don’t filter it.
The world will be fine. We are in the timeline that survives all this.
2025 in a photo…
People closest to me know how mental this year has been - Not as aggressive as the man in the bible, but this feels like my Job era. Hence, why this quote above and my title for George’s letter soothe my soul on a chilly Saturday morning.
